New York City Association of Insurance Women
NYCAIW is an independent organization based in New York City that focuses on the insurance industry. We are a non-profit association of insurance professionals made up of women and men dedicated to the development of leaders in the insurance industry through education, networking, charity, and industry alliance.
NYCAIW members represent all facets of the insurance industry including agents, brokers, claims associates, attorneys, consultants, and anyone involved in the industry, including university students who are planning on entering the insurance field.
NYCAIW supports many philanthropic and educational endeavors in the New York City area. Our fundraising efforts allow us to sponsor two scholarships a year to women in the insurance industry via the Spencer Foundation. We also host an annual career panel for students at the St. John’s School of Risk Management. We have an online Thanksgiving food drive and support Sanctuary for Families through monetary donations as well as in kind donations via our annual back to school Backpack Drive.
NYCAIWC offers networking meetings throughout the year featuring a variety of speakers and venues. Most of the suggestions for speakers and venues come from our members. We also partner with other well known New York City based insurance organization and law firms to offer panelist events and CLE educational opportunities.
The NYCAIW annual Luncheon, our largest fundraiser, is held each year in May and usually sells out quickly. This year we are excited to announce we will be returning to our former home, The Tribeca Rooftop, which will allow us to expand capacity to host upwards of 350 individuals from the insurance industry.
Our annual September kick-off meeting is held at the Battery Gardens, overlooking the NYC Harbor and Statue of Liberty. This event is much anticipated and is always a well-attended networking event.
We offer a complimentary lunchtime corporate wellness yoga session once a year.
