“Message from the President – Elissa A. Grieco”

“It is truly an honor to serve as the incoming NYCAIW President for the 2023-2024 term. As a young underwriter, I joined this organization searching for a space within the insurance industry that provided networking opportunities and educational events. Over the years being a member, and serving on the board, the NYCAIW mission to support women in their professional development as they advance their careers in the insurance space has rung true. This organization has supported me in my career development and helped me make deeper connections within the industry.

We have many exciting events throughout the year, which we post on our website and social media accounts. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to myself or any of our board members for additional information. There are several opportunities to become more involved, and we’d be happy to provide information on membership. Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to meeting you at our future events, and to all of us continuing to grow this wonderful organization.”

A Message to our Members

As a membership organization, we encourage and welcome your input and ideas in the planning and development of our meetings and educational programming. We have reinvigorated several Committees, and welcome you to learn more about them on our website. We also encourage you to reach out to any Committee Chair to discuss joining and sharing your input in providing quality programs to our new Association. As a non-profit organization, we have been fortunate that so many of our members get involved and participate as actively as time allows. If you have recommendations regarding upcoming events and activities for NYCAIW members, please forward your ideas to Michelle Gordon at michelle.gordon@markel.com.

NYCAIW proudly supports educational and charitable organizations:

NYCAIW has entered into an agreement with The Spencer Foundation where two students are awarded scholarships each year.  Scholarships are awarded to two highly-deserving female students interested in pursuing a career in the insurance field.

The NYCAIW also supports Sanctuary for Families which is the largest nonprofit in the state of NY dedicated exclusively to serving domestic violence victims and their children. Some of their services include clinical, legal, shelter, children’s and economic stability services.

Each year the NYCAIW participates in a virtual Thanksgiving food drive with the Food Bank for New York City.
